Oh man, I remember really enjoying the buildup to this show, and I definitely couldn't wait for it. I was SO excited watching it that night and it's something I'll never forget. I really enjoyed every match, not to mention being in complete awe during Undertaker's entrance prior to his much anticipated match against Kane. As far as the main event goes, of course I liked it A LOT, especially with my #1 (HBK) and #2 (Austin) favorite wrestlers of all time wrestling for the WWF title. Shawn going into this match with a terrible back and STILL managing to put in the performance he did is nothing short of amazing. I'll never forget it when Tyson slid in the ring to count the three for Austin. It was one of my favorite markout moments in history, and Jim Ross' commentary at the end was the icing on the cake. I couldn't stood jumping up and down for a moment, lol, I was SO happy for Austin! Overall, this was a GREAT show and it still holds up today.

I had about 10 friends over for this somphmore year of high school. Awesome time. Although my dad said he wished he was chained to Chyna and it wierds me out to this day. So long HBK hello Austin era. Great fun show.

One of my top Manias in terms of sentimental value, right up there with 6 and 20. This was the show that whole-heartedly got me back into the WWF fold after being nearly WCW exclusive for the last couple of years.
Taker-Kane has a nice build but the match sucked. Outlaws v. Cactus/Chainsaw was a crazy good hardcore match for the day. I always really liked the Hunter-Owen matches, I think that feud was where Hunter finally started to shine in the ring. Of course, the Austin era as champ finally kicking off was great... and the use of Mike Tyson was arguably the greatest bit of celebrity interaction ever in the WWF.
Great show from an historical standpoint although quality wise it's really not that great as all the matches are pretty average other then the dumpster match and the main event. Austin/HBK makes the show. With the exception of maybe Warrior/Hogan it was the best Mania main event at this point. Just a great match and great feel good moment as well with Austin celebrating with Mike Tyson after winning the title and putting an end to Shawn Michaels who had been such an annoying ass for so many months. The Austin era has begun!
A pretty good event from start to finish, with the exception of the DX band singing America the Beautiful. It should never be sung like that, No wonder why it was left of the wwf home video release. LOD gets a make over along with a new manager and win a battle royal with Kurrgan & Barry Windham getting invovled. Taka Aguila was good. Triple H beats Owen again. I'm surprised they didn't have Triple H & Chyna vs. Sgt. Slaughter & Owen Hart. Mixed tag was ok, but not as good as 6. Rock Shamrock with another Dusty finish. Jeff Jarrett goes back to his 93-96 persona again along with Col. Rob Parker Tenessee Lee. Dumpster match ok. Undertaker Kane was FUCKIN AWESOME. Austin HBK was good. Taker in the gorilla position ready if something doesn't go right. Tyson knocks out HBK. Austin was the perfect person to be the last person to hold the winged eagle belt. I don't know if this was discussed, but what if HBK never injured his back in 98? I'm guessing there would be title rematches, DX would be HBK HHH Chyna, X-Pac, Hall, Nash, and New Age Outlaws. It's sort of good HBK did get injured, because it was time to see new stars elevate. the next 9 months would be a great year leading into another important year 1999. The Big Event throwback in December perhaps?

Sorry I missed the feedback for No Way Out but I am back for this one. We have arrived at Wrestlemania 14 from Boston and what a Mania this was. LOD Return to win the 15 Team Battle Royal along with Sunny who OMG looked so freaking HOT. Taka/Agula is a solid Match for the Light Heavyweight Title with Taka Retaining his Title. Triple H keeps the European Title against Owen Hart with plenty of help from Chyna but the Match is very good,Slaughter also gets his from Chyna as well. Mixed Tag is not bad but it was cool seeing Sable take out Luna. The Rock once again escapes with the IC Title against Ken Shamrock but I still have never understood why twice Shamrock beats Rock but they did the dusty finish. The Dumpster Match for the Tag Titles is a fun Hardcore Match with the best spot being Mr Ass & Chainsaw falling into the Dumpster from the Ladder. We also get New Tag Team Champions in Cactus & Funk but the Titles are held up the next night. Undertaker/Kane finally get it on and I liked this Match as Taker takes everything Kane has but still wins after 3 Tombstones. Finally the Main Event for the WWF Title with Austin & HBK as Mike Tyson is the Guest Enforcer. Say what you want about Shawn Micheals from this time period but even with his back in pieces he still gutted out one hell of a performance against The Rattlesnake. Stone Cold Steve Austin finally reaches the top of the Industry as the WWF Champion with Tyson counting the fall. I bet someone in WCW who said Austin would never make it with black boots & black trunks felt pretty stupid.
So The Austin Era has arrived,DX was in store for big changes the following night, and the official kickoff to the Feud that helped carry the 1st part of the Attitude Era was about to begin. I also think you guys to Review the RAW after this Wrestlemania.
Great Wrestlemania all around and a very good paced show at that. Nothing drags on. Nice opening battle royal with a reinvented Legion of Doom. I'm sure Scott wanted to manage them with Sunny's outfit on. Really good lightheavyweight match. Triple H/Owen was a good title match with Chyna being handcuffed but that failed. Rock/Shamrock should of been a bit longer but the ending told the story...Shamrock is a nut...A chicken nut. Mixed tag was fun and really good outing by Sable in her first match. Future Women's champion maybe? Dumpster match was an interesting concept but a good one at that. Outlaws should of kept the titles. Taker/Kane was definately a highlight of this show but more for Taker's entrance and Pete Rose. Match was really good though with the multiple tombstones. Don't expect this feud to end anytime soon. Shawn/Austin was a great main event. Tyson's involvment was great. A new era officially begins as we say goodbye to the Heartbreak Kid.
And the Attitude Era officially begins with a very memorable Wrestlemania. Austin/Michaels is quite good considering the physical conditions of both men. Mike Tyson does his job well, not getting in the way too much and the post-match deal with him and Michaels is an amusing call-back to that Main Event in 1990 with Hogan, Savage and Buster Douglas. To be honest, I think I enjoy the little routine Savage did before getting knocked out a little more, just because it was more drawn out. Still, a nice way to transition to the Austin era.
A day without laughter is like a day without sunshine. A day without sunshine is like...night.

First off I love the intro video for this mania its just really awesome.
Tag Team Battle Royal: This is a cluster fuck full of teams of either little importance or just thrown together. LOD make their return but under the name LOD 2000 for some fucking reason. LOD get the win
TAKA vs Aguila: Not the best light heavyweight match we have seen recent months. Taka retains his belt.
HHH vs Owen Hart: Good solid match. Shame Owen is stuck in the European title picture knowing what we know now about his potential feud with Shawn after his return back in December. But none the less good match with the Chyna being handcuffed to Slaughter stip being pointless.
Mero and Sable vs TAFKAG and Luna: Solid mixed tag. Crowd is fucking nuts for Sable which is understandable. Mero and Sable get the win.
Rock vs Ken Shamrock: Rematch from the Rumble. Once again we get a DQ finish as Rock escapes with the belt.
Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie vs The NAO: Great hardcore match. The dumpster gimmick does a great job playing off of the angle from Raw back in February. Charlie and Jack get the win.
Undertaker vs Kane: After months and months of build and even some magic Kane and Undertaker finally do battle. I think this is Takers best Mania match to date which is not saying match cos his matches at Mania have been poor. Taker wins after having to use 3 tombstones to put Kane away. Taker may win but Kane was booked really strong to continue his run of destruction.
Austin vs HBK: Main event time. Despite the condition Michaels was in with his back and even Austin with his neck this is a great match. Some may think its poor but considering the injries these two had it is really good. Tyson doesnt do much besides stand around. Austin gets the win. crows goes nuts, Tyson knocks out HBK and sides with Austin. We get the classic Stone Cold call by JR as we officaly begin the Attitude Era after months of teasing a new era and change to the WWF.
Overall a really solid show which is easily the strongest Mania since 10 back in 94. The Austin Era has began
1. Tag Team Battle Royal -*½ 2. TAKA vs Aguila ½* 3. HHH vs Owen *** 4. Mero and Sable vs TAFKAG and Luna *** 5. Rock vs Shamrock *½ 6. Charlie and Jack vs NAO ***¼ 7. Undertaker vs Kane *½ 8. Steve Austin vs Shawn Michaels ***¼
The magnificent bastard know as the Attitude Era has officially begun! This was the moment that the WWF crashed through the glass roof & finally came roaring back into mainstream Consciousness! I received the black WM VHS box set the week before this show which I enjoyed the living fuck out of & made me even more excited for this show since I was all caught up with Mania history. This is my 3rd favorite Mania show of all time! The buildup was excellent with every match having importance behind it, although I felt that Undertaker vs Kane got slightly more hype behind it at times then Austin vs Michaels. The Boston crowd was absolutely on fire popping for every match, although they hated the Chris Warren band doing the anthem, as did I. This to me feels like the first true Attitude Era crowd.
The show itself is very solid. The opening video is very terrific & heartfelt because it points out that even though things are very different, tradition still exists & everything still has meaning. I think Owen should've won the European belt seeing that Hunter doesn't really do anything with it after this show but DX needed to look strong the whole night in order to make Austin look even stronger later. The mixed tag was well done & made Sable look like a bad-ass with a lot of potential as a wrestler. Rocky vs. Shamrock was way too short & Shamrock comes across again as a crazy dumbass, although Rocky lifting the IC belt while on the gurney was hilarious. Dumpster match was good with both teams beating the shit out of each other along with the first of many ladder spots to come.
It's a good thing for the sake of the streak that Kane didn't go over Undertaker even though for storyline purposes it would've made more sense. Kane looked dominant against the dead man & gives Taker his first real pounding at a Wrestlemania. The match kinda drags in the middle with too many rest holds, but picks up toward the end.
Considering Shawn's back was in shambles, the WWF title match comes off as good as it can. Really no doubt that Austin would win, although kind of unfortunate that Tyson only got involved in the end. It would've been good tension had Tyson jumped during the ring right after Chiota went down & officiated the match the rest of the way. Very good match by both guys despite Shawn's injury, Stone Cold's reign as the biggest star in the history of the business officially begins, & things will never be the same agaeen!
"RIGHT HAND!! TYSON! TYSON! TYSON! DOWN GOES MICHAELS!"

This WrestleMania had great hype, a great build, and an intense atmosphere. While the show was good and the main event delivered more than it ever should have (because of Michaels back) I feel the event as a whole was lacking. The taker-Kane match was good and the dumpster match delivered but the rest was average. Still it was the kickoff of an amazing era and therefore is an important WrestleMania.
I really remember this show as it was the first time I got to see a WWE PPV here in Australia as it happened (They had been delayed by weeks, or you had to wait 3 months for the Video). Show starts HOT with Sunny on the screen, looking absolutely smoking. Sadly, she reunited LOD. Didn;t really feel they should have won the Battle royal, but it is good to see so much of Sunny. Taka and Aguila put on a very entertaining match, easily the best defense of Taka's reign. Owen and Triple H put on a great brawl, with Chyna and Slaughter adding some great intrigue at ringside. Good match which furthers their storyline. The mixed Tag is just an excuse to get Sable in the ring, and is nothing really special. Rock and Shamrock have their rematch, which Shamrock dominates and wins, and then for some stupid reason puts the ankle lock back on and refuses to break it. All this does is make Kenny look ridiculous. The Outlaws put on a great brawl with Cactus and Funk. This match really establishes The Outlaws as the top tier team, even in the loss. Undertaker and Kane finally meet. Typical of what you expect from these guys. Finally Austin fulfills his destiny and wins the title. Credit must go to HBK, who was in obvious pain throughout the match. Tyson had little to do with the match, and made a horrid quick count (which I am glad the WWF never brought up). But Austin was the star, and our NEW ERA has begun. An enjoyable Wrestlemania, even if it was not outstanding.
WM XIV, what else needs to be said about it, one of the most historic shows ever. Opener was meh as it gives the LOD once last rub on the big stage. Taka/Aguila was a solid affair for the short amount of time it was given. HHH/Owen was fun as DX sticks it to Owen and Commissioner Slaughter as well. Mixed Tag match was decent as the crowd only cared about Sable. Rock/Shamrock was a fun brawl as Shamrock seemingly wins the title, but screws himself by flipping out and attacking the refs. Dumpster match was fun as Cactus and Chainsaw win the straps, if only for a day. Taker/Kane was ok as the most memorable moment was Kane Tombstoning Pete Rose. Taker does wins with 3 Tombstones, but this issue is not over. Main event was awesome as HBK puts on a show-stealing performance even with a messed up back. But it was Austin's time to shine as he finally grabs the brass ring after 8 years and Tyson in the mix adds to it. Overall, this was prehaps one of the most important shows in WWF history and kicks off my favorite period of WWF history that is described by one word: Attitude.
