RAW makes its debut in Philadelphia and would be the Show that ended WCW Monday Nitro's Ratings dominance. Great stuff with Stone Cold Steve Austin & Mr Mcmahon all night leading into their Match at the end. Vince forces Austin to tie his arm behind his back and slaps him in the face. Then Dude Love comes back to bring peace to The Warzone but eventually attacks Austin with the Mandible Claw. Not much else Match wise but this RAW stands out in early 1998.

All the momentum the WWF has been gathering since the start of the year comes full circle. Austin vs McMahon ends the 80 something week run by WCW and slowly begins the turnaround in the Monday Night War. This in my eyes is the most important RAW show since the launch of the show because of what it means in the grand scheme of things. It leads to the WWF hitting its biggest business period in company history and leads to the downfall of WCW backstage even further.
I remember being at a friends house and seeing this episode. He was only just getting into wrestling, and went nuts. I was a little more seasoned, and knew that something would stop the match actually happening. But the Austin/McMahon story was great. The one arm tied up, the mouth-piece, Shane trying to stop it- the whole episode was amazing, and really drew people into the long-term storyline being developed.
