Abandoning the one-on-one concept altogether, this was another disappointing 'Mania.
Bull and Dump...er, Boss Man star in possibly the worst WM opener ever, but things improve with the fun Hardcore battle royal. The triangle ladder match is an incredible match which stands up very well to this day, and it was great to see E&C win the straps.
The Radicalz are once again made to job to 2 Cool - this time accompanied by Chyna. It was obvious that the 3 Radicalz had about 100 times the wrestling talent of the former Too Much and future porn star. At least theuy let Benoit win gold in an oddly booked 2 falls triple threat. Sensible booking would say that the IC belt should have been up for grabs in the 2nd fall.
While most sub-par Mania's are saved by a red-hot main event, the 'McMahon in every corner' finale was an overbooked and overlong mess. It took 20 minutes to end up with the match it should have been all along - HHH v Rock. One Vince heel turn later, and HHH became the first heel to leave 'Mania with the title.
I think this Wrestlemania can be summed up with this analogy: It's like being told weeks ahead of time to expect a night of great sex & then when the night comes & you're all ready to go, you're dumped with a bucket of cold water & given the finger.
There was a LOT of hype going into this show as any Wrestlemania would get. They tried a first with the All Day Long pre-game show...I don't know if it was a success or not because they never tried it again so unless i'm wrong, it probably wasn't.
It was a real risky move to have a heel retain the WWF title at a Wrestlemania & it clearly showed on this night. I remember feeling agitated that Triple H had actually gotten away with it. The stage was clearly set for Hunter to lose the title to someone, either Rock or Mick, & having neither win the strap was really dope headed at the time. The match itself is good but it goes on for WAY too long, 40 minutes. Big Show being in the match was totally not needed in my eyes. They couldn't find anything else for him to do? Mick gave it a good go in his last match of his full time run. At least the ppv ended with Rock people's elbowing Stephanie & not with Hunter raising the strap in victory, otherwise Anaheim would've rioted. Yeah right.

A chickenfried steak sandwich is the Undisputed Champion?
An interesting idea for Wrestlemania that went over like a wet fart in church. It's sort of a good news/bad news sort of show as the good news is that the roster is stacked to the point where all the matches end up being multi-man affairs. The bad news is that out of the nine matches, only four deliver with fun 24/7 Hardcore title stuff, the great IC/European Title match, the great tag title match and the pretty good-though horrifically overbooked main event. Having it in Anaheim probably didn't help matters either as that town is not known for its great wrestling crowds. Not a terrible Mania, just very bland. On the upside, still better than what WCW was doing at the same time.
For the second year in a row, we get a disappointing Wrestlemania after a great buildup. This show actually isn't too bad, it just didn't come close to matching the expectations it had going in. The ladder match was easily the match of the night. Edge and Christian winning seemed questionable at the time as they probaly had the least momentum of the three teams, but it would end up being a great move with their heel turn after this show. The hardcore battle royal and the three way match are also good, but other then that there's really nothing else. I still to this day have no clue why Triple H won the main event. Rock winning the title here was a no brainer, but instead they do a lame swerve with Vince turning on him. Really pissed me off at the time. The peoples elbow on Stephanie helped take the sting away a little bit, but not much.
Wrestlemaina 2000 Was Ok I remember hearing about a Possible Austin vs Big Show match but That didn't happen because of Austin's neck injury but for the First TLC Being on The Card made things better and The Main Event was just crazy Vince Turning on The Rock like I didn't see that Coming i was amazed and The Build to Our Next Show would start the night after Wrestlemaina The Only Problem was Foley being in this match No Disrespect To Mick But Not For this Match the Show Itself was good oh and No Taker Yikes I forgot about that LOL!!

I know some people don't like this Wrestlemania but overall Ive come to like it. I know some say the Anaheim Crowds don't bring the juice alot of the time but here I thought they were into everything. I love the Triangle Ladder Match, the 2 Fall Triple Threat, and Hardcore Battle Royal. It was good to see Edge & Christian finally get a Tag Title run after working so hard & long for it. Chris Benoit taking home the IC Title is a good moment and Y2J winning the European Title is cool too. The Battle Royal is just fun and I always enjoyed the 24/7 Rule though I do think the ending was botched a little bit. Triple H retaining in the Main Event at the time really made me mad as I wanted The Rock to win so badly but looking back we get an bigger payoff the next month. The rest of the Show is not bad but it was odd not having a single one on one Match. This was still better than the god awful Uncensored PPV that WCW put on 2 weeks before this.

Some good things to like in this one, even though it is historically looked at as one of the worse all time.
The Hardcore match was fun, and the TLC was epic.
The Euro and IC Triple Threat was also epic as well, and great way to keep Angle's heat by Jericho and Benoit pinning each other during the match.
The main event, even though it would boil itself down to the expected matchup, is still textbook overbooking (and this is WITHOUT Russo), just too many twists and turns to get to the match, and for the first time the fans were not sent home happy after Wrestlemania.

2 match show is what this is. God this show is so bad. The Hardcore battle royal while fun is just a confusing mess of men in a ring. T&A and Head Cheez yep another shitty match. Tag Team 3 Way ladder match is awesome not gonna go on about it cos everything that has been said about it has. Terri and The Kat then kill any heat the crowd had. Again The WWF booking team is stupid having comedy faces beat their new heel group good job Vince. Jericho, Angle and Benoit have a 3 way which is underlooked by the Ladder match and would set the tone for some great mid card matches in the future. Kane finds a new friend in Rikishi as they beat sort of DX. The main event is fucking dumb. Why couldn't they just do Rock/HHH like normal rather than just hand Foley a WM main event 1 MONTH AFTER HE RETIRED and try one last time to make Big Show relevant. It all blows down to the McMahons in the end oh and HHH retained his title cos the McMahons made nice with each other. Yep what a show this was.
This Wrestlemania was the first I ever ordered live down here in Australia, but sadly I was a little disappointed in it. There were just too many multi-man matches for Wrestlemania.
The highlights are great. The hardcore match was entertaining, if not confusing. The botched ending is brutal but fun to watch. The triple threat with Angle, Benoit and Jericho was awesome, and showed WCW just how stupid they were to let these guys go. The TLC match was phenomenal. I was surprised when Edge and Christian won, but it was the start of something great.
The rest of the undercard was a little underwhelming. All the tag matches just seemed to be trying to get guys on the cards, and just never really hit any heights.
The main event was awkward. Mick should not have returned, and the Big Show seemed to be the victim of bad booking again. Rock and Triple H had a great finish to the match, but I really feel Rock should have gone over (sorry Scott). It wasn't the best Mania, but it also wasn't the worst.
Considering all the hate this WM gets, I think it's a pretty good show. The opener was ok as Bossman and Buchanan win. Hardcore battle royal was a fun car crash as Hardcore Holly is once again champ. T&A/Head Cheese match was pretty bad that's only memorable for Trish's debut, wonder if she'll amount to much. Triangle ladder match is a classic as E&C take their place as the number one tag team in the company. Catfight was simple filler, enough said while the 6-person tag match was fun with Chyna and Too Cool winning. Triple Threat match is a pretty great match as Angle loses both titles without being pinned. Kane and Rikishi defeat DX in an ok affair, but it is more memorable for Pete Rose taking a chokeslam and Stinkface. I'm probably one of the few that enjoy the main event as Foley gets his WM main event before heading into the sunset and HHH defeats Rock thanks to Vince. Plus we get a Holy Shit moment as Rock gives Stephanie the Rock Bottom and People's Elbow. Overall, this was a better show than it gets credit for and continues the red hot year that is 2000.

I'm in agreement with Mick Foley shouldn't have come back for this. They still could have the three main McMahon's feuding against each other without Linda's interaction. Maybe then Big Show wouldn't have been jobbed in about 5 minutes either. However, not a bad main event. Especially the last few minutes between Rock and Triple H.
A lot of tag matches that really could have just been cut and all the guys could have been added to the hardcore battle royal. Just take out the 24/7 stipulation and have a bring-your-own weapons battle royal, winner takes the Hardcore Title. You still could have gotten in all the gimmicks and angles they wanted to put over. Plus some of the time saved for this match could have been used for the Euro-continental two-fall Triple Threat match. LOVED the that match, as all three were amazing athletes and showed why they needed to be taken seriously. Same can be said for the Triple Threat Tag Team Ladder match. They showed us why we love our tag team wrestling.
Terri and The Kat should have been a pre-show filler. By the way, I did order that all-day pre-show they did for this show, and still have it on video tape somewhere. I enjoyed it, nice re-living some of the great Wrestlemania moments leading into what was supposed to be a huge Wrestlemania.
